· New auction format - Sealed Bid Auction
· New languages: Polish and Hungarian
· Extended reporting functionality
Frankfurt, 1 August 2005 – Version 4.9.2 of the Enterprise Sourcing Cockpit was released last Sunday. This solution package destined for professional purchasers covers the entire strategic purchasing process using online tenders, online auctions and supplier management. So far, the solution has been available in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Czech, Italian and Bahasa Indonesia. Polish and Hungarian have now been added to meet the demands of international purchasing departments. The languages can be turned on or off as required.
Release 4.9.2 offers new analysis functionality throughout the entire system. Reports on savings and project volumes can now be created on a product category level (e.g. turned parts, cardboard packaging, etc.) and for particular organisational units. In this way, the user has a constant overview of the extent to which savings targets have been achieved and how market prices in particular product groups are presently developing.
The Sealed Bid Auction offers new negotiation options. In contrast to a classic English auction, all prices stipulated in a Sealed Bid Auction remain undisclosed. Each bidder may only make one offer. The Sealed Bid Auction is generally used when two or more bidders have positioned the same price at the end of a classic auction.
“We have followed the requirements of our customers closely in this new release,” emphasises director Wolfram Sommer, “with ten available languages, we are one of the few suppliers in the market who can offer our customers real global sourcing.”
