The results demonstrate that the Frankfurt-based company has been able to further extend its leadership in the market for e-sourcing solutions. “It’s a result that fully meets the expectations of our investors,” declared Gerald Heydenreich, Chairman of Portum AG. “It also means that we have achieved a profit margin of over 25 per cent!”
The key ingredient in this success was the rigorous ongoing implementation of Portum’s product development strategy. Versions 4.8 and 4.9 of the Enterprise Sourcing Cockpit developed by Portum contain radical new functions such as the release workflow or the multi-envelope process, which help create a more user-friendly environment for purchasing solutions.
Some credit for this first-quarter success is also due to cooperation with sales and technology partners. Since 2004, Portum has run its product development using .NET, the standard development tool from Microsoft. Additional sales channels were also opened up thanks to partnerships with Siemens SBS and T-Systems.
“On this basis, we’re on course for a successful 2005,” Gerald Heydenreich believes. “Thanks to the combination of our expert services and technology leadership, we can keep building on our strong position.”
